Welcome to Asclepias Acres
Asclepias Acres is a native Florida plant sanctuary dedicated to restoring ecological balance through the power of native plants. Specializing in Central Eastern Florida ecotypes, we offer high-quality, affordable milkweed and other native species that support pollinators—especially monarch butterflies—and strengthen local biodiversity.
Located on 5.5 acres of protected pollinator habitat, our sanctuary is proudly recognized as a Certified Wildlife Habitat and honored by multiple organizations for our conservation efforts. We are members of the Florida Association of Native Nurseries (FANN), the Florida Native Plant Society, the Florida Wildflower Foundation, and the National Wildlife Federation. We've also been recognized by the Pawpaw Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club as a certified butterfly habitat, and the National Audubon Society for providing essential food and shelter for birds.
Our mission is simple: to inspire, educate, and empower our community to choose native over invasive—one plant at a time.
At Asclepias Acres, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us.
In September, during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, we partnered with the Wildflour Market in Edgewater for their Night Market event, helping raise funds for a local woman bravely battling ovarian cancer. In October, we were proud to support the talented students of the New Smyrna Beach High School Theatre Troupe as they brought The Addams Family to life on stage. And in November, our donation went to the Marine Science Center in Ponce Inlet to support their ongoing conservation and education efforts.
We’re honored to contribute to these inspiring local causes and look forward to continuing our mission of giving back.
Meet Monty the Monarch
Monty is a quirky, quick-tempered butterfly with a big heart for the natural world. Fiercely protective of his home, his fiery outbursts are fueled by habitat loss and human disruption. Grumpy but wise, Monty channels his frustration into fierce advocacy, reminding us that anger often comes from love. He’s not just a butterfly—he’s nature’s unapologetic voice, calling for balance, preservation, and respect.
